Key Dates and Other Stuff

Now that the treatment plan is in place we have goals to hit.
6/22 - Treatments start
8/8 - Last treatment
8/12 - Annual baseball trip
11/12 - Mini marathon

The annual baseball trip is something the boys (John, Sam, and Todd) and I do every year. Each year we travel to a different stadium for a couple of games and we always cheer for the home team. John and I started this about 10 years ago.

As a long time Chicago Cub fan there are a couple of principals that can never be compromised. The first is do not expect to play in, much less win, the World Series. It is just not going to happen.

Secondly, and more importantly, you have to hate the St. Louis Cardinals ( for proof of this read Are We Winning).

We always decide around Christmas where we are going the following summer and we knew that one year, if we were going to get to all the stadiums, we would have to go to St. louis. Well this is the year we are to cheer for the Cardinals. I will let you decide if the trama of going to St. Louis is what brought on the brain issue or if this is some sort of strange coincidence.

On a brighter note, all the kids, and of course grandson Will, came in yesterday and will be here today for Fathers Day. Marti's folks are coming over also so we are looking forward to a big cookout.

Happy Father's Day to any dads reading this entry.

Thank you for caring.

  1. Happy Father's Day! Sounds like a full house on Tenekat today. Naturally we expect pictures of Will et al.
Got some new Asics today and started water jogging at the local pool (without the Asics). Have Sarah or Sam been messing with the countdown clock?

Just out of curiosity why is Will not invited to the baseball trip?

  2. So my friend and former neighbor, Pam, has been following the blog. Yesterday, she informed me that she needed some tennis shoes and that it was time for me to get some running shoes. We went to Dick's Sporting Goods and had a very young girl wait on us. We told her what we wanted and she asked us if we had any feet problems. Pam advised her that she, Pam, is now able to keep her feet straight when she walks. I showed her my bunion and told her I am preparing for a mini marathon. For some reason, she was very amused. Now tonight I plan to start sleeping in my running clothes, as suggested by my niece, Chris.

I'll be thinking about you this week and praying that it all goes well.

By the way, for once I agree with Bob, Will should go on the baseball trip. Although, I don't remember him taking any 9 month grandchildren on any trips without Stephanie!

  3. Remind me to tell you sometime about the time I jumped a seat section rail at Busch and onto the back of a random Cardinal Fan. He snatched a poster out of my hand, ran down the stairs with it, right under my seat. Stupid man, should have run the other direction, because I knocked him down, broke his finger and got my poster back! That was back when I was young, spunky and agile! Happy Father's day!

  4. It's so cool to read about another Will in the family. Please don't take him to the Cards game. There fans are a bunch of heathens. Go Cubs.

  5. Think of you...

And like the others I have been running (a small amount). The dogs actually do pretty well, but it is annoying when they want to run with the squirrels up the trees.
